Cookie Policy
Last updated: 2026/11/08
FixImage's cookie policy explains sign-in, saved preferences, analytics and referral reward cookies, plus how to turn optional cookies off.
What this policy covers
This Cookie Policy explains what cookies FixImage actually sets when you use fiximage.net, and why. FixImage keeps this list short and only lists cookies that are genuinely in use.
FixImage sets at most twelve cookies. Five exist only to keep you signed in and to remember choices you have made yourself; four are analytics cookies from Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity that help us understand how the site is used; two support the referral reward programme and are set only if you take part in it; one records your choice in Cookie settings. FixImage sets no advertising, targeting or social-media cookies, and does not sell cookie data.
Cookies FixImage currently sets
| Cookie | Purpose | Type |
|---|---|---|
locale | Remembers your language preference. (FixImage is currently English-only.) | Functional |
fiximage-auth-hint | A non-sensitive flag used only to prevent a visual flicker in the navigation bar while your real session loads. It is not a sign-in credential and cannot be used to authenticate you. | Functional |
| Authentication session cookie | Keeps you signed in between page loads. Set by FixImage's authentication system. | Strictly necessary |
| Sidebar state | Remembers whether your dashboard sidebar is expanded or collapsed. | Functional |
announcement_closed | Remembers that you closed the announcement banner at the top of the page, so it stays hidden for 24 hours. Contains only the time you closed it. Expires after 24 hours. | Functional |
fiximage_consent | Remembers whether you selected Accept all or Reject all in Cookie settings. Contains only your choice, the time you made it and a version number. Set only when you make a choice there. Expires after one year. | Strictly necessary |
_ga | Set by Google Analytics to distinguish visitors, so we can count how many people use FixImage and which pages they visit. Expires after two years. | Analytics |
_ga_<ID> | Set by Google Analytics to keep track of your current visit (session). Expires after two years. | Analytics |
_clck | Set by Microsoft Clarity to recognise returning visitors, so we can see how pages are used and where they are confusing. Expires after one year. | Analytics |
_clsk | Set by Microsoft Clarity to group the pages you view in one visit. Expires after one day. | Analytics |
reward_referral | Remembers which invitation link brought you here, so the reward can be credited to the person who invited you. Contains only the 8-character invitation code and an expiry, signed so it cannot be altered. Set only when you open an invitation link while signed out. Expires after 30 days. | Referral |
_reward_did | A random identifier for this browser, signed by our server. It is used only to help apply our fair-use policy for free rewards. It contains no information about you or your device, and is not used for advertising, analytics or cross-site tracking. Set only when you use a reward feature. Expires after one year. | Referral |
That is the complete list of cookies set on fiximage.net. FixImage also keeps a few settings in your browser's local storage, such as your colour theme, whether you closed an offer banner, and whether this browser has used the trial or signed in before. They contain no account details, are not used for analytics or advertising, and are removed when you clear this site's data in your browser. Google and Microsoft may also set their own cookies on their own domains when their analytics scripts load; those are described in their privacy policies. FixImage does not set advertising, targeting or social-media cookies.
Both referral cookies are HttpOnly (not readable by page scripts) and are signed by our server, so their contents cannot be modified by you or by anyone else. They are not set unless you open an invitation link or use a reward feature.
Deleting reward_referral means we can no longer tell who invited you, so the invitation reward cannot be credited. Deleting _reward_did does not stop you using FixImage, and does not change how our fair-use policy for free rewards applies to your account.
The reward system does not calculate a browser fingerprint from hardware or browser characteristics. _reward_did is instead a random value our server issues and signs.
Strictly necessary cookies
The authentication session cookie above is strictly necessary — without it, FixImage cannot keep you signed in. This type of cookie cannot be turned off within the service, because doing so would prevent FixImage from working.
fiximage_consent is also treated as strictly necessary: it only stores the cookie choice you asked FixImage to remember, and it is never set unless you make a choice in Cookie settings.
Functional cookies
The locale, fiximage-auth-hint, announcement_closed and sidebar-state cookies improve your experience but aren't required for FixImage to function at a basic level. You can block or delete these through your browser settings; doing so may cause minor inconveniences, such as FixImage forgetting your sidebar preference.
Analytics cookies
FixImage uses Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity to understand how the site is used — for example, which pages people visit, how they move between them and where they run into problems. Google Analytics collects page views and similar usage events. Clarity records how pages are used, such as clicks, scrolling and mouse movement. This information is processed by Google and Microsoft on our behalf. We use it only to improve FixImage, not for advertising.
Analytics cookies are on by default. To turn them off, select Cookie settings in the site footer and choose Reject all; analytics and affiliate referral scripts then stop loading from your next page visit. You can turn them back on the same way with Accept all. If you clear the fiximage_consent cookie, the default applies again. FixImage does not use advertising or social-media cookies.
Managing cookies
Most browsers let you view, delete, and block cookies through their settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent you from staying signed in to FixImage.
Questions and complaints
If you have a question about FixImage's use of cookies, contact us. You can also complain to the UK's regulator, the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), at ico.org.uk. How FixImage handles the personal data behind these cookies is covered in our Privacy Policy.
Changes to this policy
FixImage may update this Cookie Policy as the cookies it actually uses change. Changes will be posted on this page, and continuing to use FixImage after an update means you accept the revised policy.
